About Kima Ventures
Kima Ventures is one of the world's most active early-stage investors, investing in 2 to 3 startups per week all over the world; providing founders with funding, network and support for them to reach the next steps of their journey.
We invest from seed to Series A, mostly as lead investor but also working alongside other investors; backing ambitious founders who work hard to build awesome things that more and more people use everyday. We expect them to build a great team, to learn very quickly, to keep the right focus and execute towards growth.
We pride ourselves in working side-by-side with entrepreneurs. We understand that fundraising is only one step in the company’s journey, that’s why we take quick decisions and make the fundraising process as smooth as possible so the founders can get back to the work of building their business. We’re not only an investor, we are a network of founders and experts sharing a pay it forward mindset.
Headquartered in Paris with an office in London, we are founded and backed by Xavier Niel, founder of Iliad and supporter of entrepreneurs through such projects as 42, 1000 Start-Ups @ La Halle Freyssinet and 101projets. Over the last 5 years we've invested in over 400 startups in 24 different countries.

Which sectors do you invest in?
We mainly consider companies in the internet industry at large and avoid industries that are very capital intensive upfront or heavily regulated such as cleantech, medical devices or biotech.
At which stages do you invest and how much?
We invest from seed to Series A, mostly as lead investor but also working alongside other investors. Typically we invest from $100,000 to $200,000 per company early in the life of the company.
In which countries do you invest?
We are open to invest anywhere in the world and have so far invested in 24 different countries.
What are you looking for in a company to invest in?
For seed stage companies we are usually looking for a complete and cohesive team formed already that has stellar learning and execution curves. We typically like to some initial product or prototype built that we can test ourselves. If there are initial users and KPIs that is always beneficial. The larger the fundraising round, the more initial traction we are looking for when we make an investment decision.
How do I get funding from Kima? What materials will I need to provide?
Please visit the Apply page and complete the relevant form with information about your company.
We ask for information about yourself, the details of the company, information about the founders, a few more detailed questions about what you've built so far, the market and finally details on your fundraising plans. This gives us a good idea of the business and we can tell from this if it's worth us scheduling a call.
We also ask you to attach an investor deck or presentation, this is just a short overview of the business, we don't require business plans or long-term financial models. An example of a good deck can be found here.
What is Kima15 and is that all that you do?
Kima15 was a fixed investment offer that we launched in December 2013 and discontinued in August 2016 which offered startups the opportunity to raise $150,000 funding for 15% of the company, quickly and on fixed terms. More details on this decision can be found here.
Kima15 was always only a small part of our investment strategy; as always you can continue to apply for funding from $100,000 to $200,000 per company at flexible terms from seed to Series A on our apply page.
How can I meet/contact you?
